With local authority budgets under intense pressure technology and innovation offer enormous potential for greater efficiency, reduced costs and improved service delivery. How can data be harnesses to improve and target services and create savings? How are councils using AI in finance departments and the wider council and what are the practical, legal and ethical considerations? What role is digital transformation playing in cost saving and efficiency? And with some well publicised overspends on new systems implementation how do councils maximise gains and return on investment whilst avoiding expensive pitfall?

With many authorities looking to procure, upgrade and implement new systems and innovations, this conference is the chance for finance directors to come together with chief information officers and directors of transformation along with key private sector partners to share leaning and best practice and find solutions to implement back in the workplace.

What does effective implementation and contract management look like – how do you avoid costly delays and overspends?  How do you innovate in a large and complex marketplace?

One of the critical dependencies of a successful LGR programme will be bringing together people, technology and data. What are the lessons we can learn from authorities that have been through unitarization already? What lessons can we learn from mergers and acquisitions in the private sector? Beyond the back office: enabling scalable transformation

True transformation goes far deeper than implementing new technology. Technology will always be the tip of the iceberg and the enabler of change. The real challenge—and opportunity—lies in rewiring how organisations work, reimagining processes, and cultivating a culture of agility and collaboration across an organisation. And this requires to lead through change and maximise the capability that the latest tech provides.

This session will discuss how organisations can move beyond back-office automation to create meaningful, business-wide change from front to back office.
