Tim joined Baillie Gifford in 2007 and became a partner of the firm in 2016. He is an investment specialist, overseeing the institutional client base that invests in Long Term Global Growth, one of Baillie Gifford’s most concentrated equity strategies with a focus on transformational payoffs. He also leads the broader client specialist ecosystem at Baillie Gifford. In recent years, Tim has been closely involved with the development of Baillie Gifford’s Shanghai office. Prior to joining the firm, Tim joined Arthur Anderson in 2000 before moving to AT Kearney where he managed a number of private equity projects. Tim graduated MEng in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol in 1999.

Jo has been Head of Pensions at Lincolnshire County Council since 2008. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Fund, including investments, governance, fund accounting, the Pensions Committee and Local Pension Board and the client role for the pensions administration function, delivered through a shared service with West Yorkshire Pension Fund. Lincolnshire Pension Fund is a Partner Fund within Border to Coast Pensions Partnership.

Mark Lyon is Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Border to Coast Pensions Partnership, one of the largest LGPS pools in the UK responsible for the management of £38.3bn. He oversees the management of the internal equities, fixed income and private markets investment functions. Mark has more than 20 years’ experience in investment management and is a CFA Charterholder. He was previously the Head of Investments for the Derbyshire and East Riding local authority pension funds. Prior to working in investment management, Mark worked in Corporate Finance and Audit for BDO Stoy Hayward where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Alex Temple is a senior portfolio manager and the Head of Credit for the Global Fixed Income team at Allspring Global Investments. In this role, he is responsible for investment-grade-focused portfolios.

He joined Allspring from its predecessor firm, Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM).

Alex started with the firm as a rates portfolio manager for the Structured Products group, structuring derivatives for WFAM’s pension fund and insurance clients. Prior to that, Alex was a vice president with the Global Debt Analytics group at Merrill Lynch.

Earlier, Alex served as a consultant for LogicaCMG specializing in the banking sector. Alex began his investment industry career in 2001.

He earned a master’s degree with honours in mechanical engineering from Bristol University. Alex has also completed the Sustainable Finance Programme at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and he is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

Emmanuel is an experienced Investment professional who joins LPF from TPT Retirement Solutions, a pension fund consolidator where he has spent the past seven years as deputy CIO, managing multiple schemes across strategic portfolio construction, investment manager selection for all asset classes and reporting to stakeholders. Prior to TPT, Emmanuel spent over ten years at the in-house investment management arm of the National Grid UK pension scheme, latterly as head of alternative investments.

Emmanuel began his career in 1994 at Credit Lyonnais Securities with responsibilities for interest rate derivatives trading, moving on to similar roles at ANZ Investment Bank and subsequently HypoVereinsBank. Prior to joining the National Grid UK pension scheme Emmanuel worked at Gulf International Bank where he was responsible for managing a systematic investment programme.

Emmanuel holds a masters in engineering from École Centrale Paris and graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Leandros is the Chief Investment Officer of West Yorkshire Pension Fund (‘WYPF’), which has approximately £18bn of assets and 300,000 members. He leads a large investment team directly investing across public, private and alternatives markets, alongside the collaborative partnerships in infrastructure though GLIL and in private equity through NPEP. He was most recently Head of Portfolio Solutions at abrdn and Head of Credit at USS, and started his career in banking and alternatives firms.

Leandros has an MBA from INSEAD and an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford

Jonathan oversees the investment strategy of the fund management businesses which form the Octopus fund management group which manages more than £10 billion of retail and institutional money. Octopus Capital is a multi-strategy alternatives manager, helping investors to generate long-term income and capital growth by investing in sustainable infrastructure and real estate, to back some of Europe’s fastest-growing, most disruptive businesses and to solve some of society’s greatest challenges.

He joined Octopus in February 2015 as Product Head for Octopus Inheritance Tax Service. Before joining Octopus, Jonathan ran a team at Lloyds that looked after the bank’s non-core equity portfolio. He also undertook stints at BNP Paribas, Robert Fleming and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Jonathan is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has an MA in Geography from the University of Oxford.

Andrew is a Senior Director and Fund Manager with CBRE Global Investors. Andrew is the Fund Manager for the CBRE UK Long Income Fund. Andrew is a Certified Person under the FCA’s Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR).

Andrew has approximately 14 years of real estate experience. Most recently he spent approximately two years as an Investment Manager for a UK based private property company, the entirety of his real estate career before this was spent at Aviva Investors. Andrew’s tenure at Aviva Investors was primarily focussed upon acquisitions and fund management for a range of long income funds.

He was assistant fund manager on the REaLM suite of funds focussing upon income strips and latterly was the co fund manager on the Lime Property Fund and the Fund Manager for the long income portfolio of the Aviva Staff Pension Scheme. During his time at Aviva Investors Andrew was responsible for over £1.2billion of long income transactions spanning all sectors and structures including ground rents, income strips and conventional long lease transactions.

Andrew is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Andrew is also FCA approved, having obtained the Investment Management Certificate in 2007. Andrew graduated from the City University, Cass Business School in 2007 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Real Estate Investment and Finance.

George retired from his role as Director of the South Yorkshire Pensions Authority after nearly 8 years in December 2025, after a career in local government finance and pensions which included senior finance roles in district and county councils and leading the Lancashire Pension Fund during the creation of LPP follows by leading LPP’s administration business. He now acts as an independent adviser to Border to Coast Pensions Partnership on local investment and is Independent Chair of Lincolnshire’s Local Pension Board as well as providing advice on a range of issues to other LGPS funds. 

Neil has been the Principal Investment Manager for the £12billion Tyne and Wear Pension Fund for over two years. The role is responsible all aspects of the Fund’s investment portfolio including setting the Investment Strategy and asset allocation, managing the investment structure and implementing the responsible investment policy.  During his time at the Fund he has been heavily involved in developing the response to climate change as well as supporting the pooling Agenda and making new investments Residential Property and various private market funds.

In previous roles Neil worked at PIRC in client relations with a focus on the LGPS Performance universe and he also spent 10 years at CIPFA running the Pensions Network. This involved a range of activities supporting the LGPS from producing various guidance documents, delivering advice and training and facilitating conferences and other networking events. Neil is a CIPFA qualified accountant who has worked in or around Local Government for over 25 years.

Alan is a portfolio manager in the Emerging Markets Fixed Income team at Ninety One with responsbilities for Emerging Market and Asian credit strategies.

Prior to joining the firm, Alan worked at BlueBay Asset Management where he was a portfolio manager specialising in Emerging Markets. From 2008 to 2011 Alan worked at Alchemy Special Situations as an executive responsible for European distressed debt and special situations investing. Prior to Alchemy, Alan was a vice president in fixed income at Citigroup Salomon Smith Barney. Alan started his career at Deloitte in Australia.

Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, first class honours (Accounting and Finance) degree from the University of Western Australia and completed a Masters in Business Administration at INSEAD, France. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant (Australia and New Zealand).

Iain leads Hymans Robertson’s investment consulting advice to LGPS funds. In this role, Iain covers the vast array of challenges clients face, including investment strategy, pooling and responsible investment. Iain’s experience spans over a decade, including time spent working within the LGPS as an inhouse investment manager at Greater Manchester Pension Fund.

Iain loves building strong relationships with his clients and prides himself on his ability to communicate clearly, taking the endless complexity and jargon within the investment world and distilling it into easily understandable language for his clients.
