Net Zero Investor’s Renewable Infrastructure Summit 2024

Ed is Head of Energy and Infrastructure, overseeing all direct infrastructure and renewables investment activity. 

Ed joined Gravis from Gresham House where he was co-manager of its Sustainable Infrastructure funds. He started his focus on sustainable investing at Bridges Fund Management in 2008 and has also worked at the Carbon Trust and Downing. He has led investments in several key sustainable themes: decarbonisation (battery energy storage, peaking power plants, renewable energy generation – AD, hydro, solar, and wind); digital infrastructure; modern methods of construction for housing; regeneration (biodiversity net gain habitat banks); vertical farming; waste and recycling solutions.

Ed has a degree in Economics from Cambridge University and qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen.

Dan leads the investment team of The People’s Partnership and drives forward the investment strategy of the £22bn People’s Pension Master Trust serving over 6 million members, being one of the largest asset owners in the UK.

Dan is a big fan of cutting through the noise when it comes to investing, using clear principles to guide investment and thinking with the mindset of an asset owner.

Dan has been operating in the investments sector since 2003 and Dan’s previous career experience has included investment consulting roles at consultancy firms Lane, Clark and Peacock (LCP) where Dan was a partner, Redington and Mercer.

Imraan leads the Climate Opportunities strategy at Border to Coast, which is a £1.35bn strategy that aims to build multi-asset class and diversified exposure to the climate investment theme for Partner Funds. He has over 19 years of experience across both the buy-side and M&A, and prior to this, designed and led the private markets investment strategy for the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation’s endowment, focusing on thematic investments across the energy transition, clean technologies, food and health. Prior to this, Imraan was a Fund Manager at Bamboo Capital Partners, where he ran a direct private equity investment strategy focusing on investments into emerging market banks and fintech providers. As such, he brings significant experience across both the LP and GP sides of the table. Imraan holds an MBA from London Business School, and a BA in Economics from Cambridge.

Philip is a senior consultant in our LGPS investment practice and has a strong track record of identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities, building investment cases, structuring appropriate solutions (involving funds or direct investments), and in their execution.

Prior to joining Hymans Robertson in 2020, Philip worked for over 20 years in the asset management industry supporting institutional clients in the development and implementation of their investment strategies.

Katya is an experienced investment professional who has been successfully originating, leading and managing equity investments across various infrastructure sectors for over 19 years. She is currently a Portfolio Manager at Aware Super, the third largest superannuation fund in Australia. Based in London, she is helping develop and grow Aware Super’s infrastructure investment platform in the UK and Europe. Prior to joining Aware Super, she served as an Investment Director at one of the UK’s Local Government Pension Schemes, LPPI, overseeing its £3.0 billion portfolio of infrastructure fund, co-investments and direct investments. She was responsible for the origination, execution and management of the infrastructure portfolio and is tasked with leading deal teams through all stages of the investment process.

Prior to joining LPPI, Katya spent over 10 years working for Balfour Beatty Investments, the international infrastructure development and investment company. She has also worked at Bank of America Investment Bank in London and a boutique infrastructure advisory firm in the US.

James is the Head of Investment Proposition for Smart Pension. He is responsible for building and running Smart Pension’s £2.5bn investment solution for its master trust. As part of this role, James and the investments team will be delivering Smart Pension’s net zero pledge for its members, using leading and innovative ESG investment products.

Prior to joining Smart Pension, James spent nine years at Mercer, where he was the lead investment strategist for Mercer’s UK DC delegated investment business, including the Mercer Master Trust. In this role he was responsible for the strategic direction of the delegated investment solution, Mercer SmartPath, with over £12bn of assets.

James is also a CFA Charterholder

Fiona is an Investment Proposition Manager within the Smart Pension Master Trust investments team. She is responsible for developing the investment strategy for the £2bn Smart Pension Master Trust, including delivering their net zero pledge. Fiona recently joined Smart Pension from Mercer, where she was a DC investment consultant for a number of years, advising large institutional pension schemes on their investment strategy. Fiona is a CFA Charterholder and, earlier this year, Fiona received her Certificate in ESG Investing, the first qualification of its kind in the UK.

Alex joined OEGen as Co-head in 2015 to help develop the energy strategy, originate and structure investments in new areas and to widen OEGen’s investor relationships. Alex manages private institutional funds which serve several large pension and insurance company investors. Alex is a member of the Investment Manager’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining OEGen, Alex was Director in the Energy and Environmental Infrastructure team at Ernst & Young LLP where he provided a wide range of corporate and project finance services to leading investors in the renewable energy industry. Alex is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, qualifying in 2003.

Krish is an experienced investment professional with over 15 years experience in origination and asset management in markets across Australia, India and the Middle East.

In his current role a Portfolio Manager at Aware Super, the third largest superannuation fund in Australia with more than A$170 billion FUM, Krish has relocated to join the London office where he is helping deliver the Fund infrastructure investment platform in the UK and Europe. Prior to joining Aware Super, Krish held roles in Tribe Infrastructure Group, Olirek Partners, Sydney Motorway Corporation and EY.

Returns for the Fund’s A$17.5 billion infrastructure portfolio are driven by a globally-diversified program which captures global trends in demography, sustainability and technology to achieve a broad universe of assets. It has a targeted focus on opportunities in Europe, North America, Australia and Asia with a sector focus on energy transition and digital opportunities. 

Cameron is a Director at Gravis and is Head of Distribution. She is a member of the Responsible Investment Committee.

She joined Gravis in April 2019 from Neptune Investment Management, where she was responsible for covering the Southwest, Midlands and Wales. Prior to that Cameron worked at Ardevora Asset Management where she supported the Head of Institutional clients.

Cameron graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Cambridge and holds the Investment Management Certificate.
