Emmanuel is an experienced Investment professional who joins LPF from TPT Retirement Solutions, a pension fund consolidator where he has spent the past seven years as deputy CIO, managing multiple schemes across strategic portfolio construction, investment manager selection for all asset classes and reporting to stakeholders. Prior to TPT, Emmanuel spent over ten years at the in-house investment management arm of the National Grid UK pension scheme, latterly as head of alternative investments.

Emmanuel began his career in 1994 at Credit Lyonnais Securities with responsibilities for interest rate derivatives trading, moving on to similar roles at ANZ Investment Bank and subsequently HypoVereinsBank. Prior to joining the National Grid UK pension scheme Emmanuel worked at Gulf International Bank where he was responsible for managing a systematic investment programme.

Emmanuel holds a masters in engineering from École Centrale Paris and graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Niall is Head of Investment Strategy in the Investment Proposition team at Aegon UK and is responsible for building a strategy and development roadmap, and implementation of investment solutions to drive growth in Aegon’s Workplace and Adviser channels to deliver the best possible investment outcomes for Aegon’s customers.  Niall has been with Aegon for 4 years having spent 16 years with Royal London in a variety of pension and investment roles ending his time there as a senior investment actuary. 

Russell has over twenty years’ experience of leading client teams advising in-house and external stakeholders on investment strategy, governance and regulatory compliance. Initially as a pension scheme actuary and senior consultant, then across client director, team leader and investment consultant roles with an asset management company. He is a qualified actuary with a thorough understanding of the investment, regulatory and governance needs for the UK insurance, defined benefit and defined contribution markets.

Russell has developed strong stakeholder and project management skills across a diverse range of senior/c-suite internal and external stakeholders, industry contacts and peers. Working across investment, actuarial, operations, legal, regulatory and risk disciplines and resulting in successful project management and go-to-market strategy implementation across my career. He has successfully led both technical and non-technical teams – and authored ‘thought leader” research papers, articles and presentations for the insurance, defined benefit and defined contribution markets.

Laura has worked in public sector finance for 35 years having started as YTS in Kirkcaldy District Council.  Over the years she has worked in various roles in Local Government finance including having responsibility for corporate processes such as annual accounts, budgets, capital, investment and treasury.  Laura has recently been appointed to the role of Pensions Service Manager in Fife Pension Fund overseeing administration, investment and governance. 

Simon is a Partner and Head of Responsible Investment at Hymans Robertson.  With over 30 years’ industry experience, Simon has worked with asset owners including pension funds, insurers, and charities on a wide range of investment matters, but now focuses primarily on helping asset owners develop and implement all aspects of their responsible investment strategies.  Simon has led Hymans Robertson’s responsible investment team for the last ten years and is currently Co-Chair of the Investment Consultants Sustainability Working Group.

Eddie is the Scotland representative of the National Wealth Fund and is based in Edinburgh.  His role covers NWF’s activities across both the public and private sectors.

Prior to joining NWF, Eddie was an Executive Director at the Scottish National Investment Bank, and Head of Corporate Finance at Edinburgh-based merchant bank Noble & Co.  Earlier in his career, he established Clydesdale Bank’s first renewable energy team and its project finance product offering.

Mark Munro joined the Scottish National Investment Bank in August 2021 as Executive Director for Net Zero and was subsequently appointed Interim Head of Investment Origination in June 2022 and CIO in June 2023

Mark has over 20 years capital raising experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, credit risk & reporting, business banking and project management.

Starting his career with Deutsche Bank and then Bank of Scotland, Mark specialised in energy finance for over 15 years primarily to independent oil and gas companies in the North Sea with Lloyds Bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and DNB Bank. Mark spent 2012-2013 in Houston, Texas focused on US energy clients.

Gareth joined BW in 2024, having previously led Investment Proposition Development at Standard Life. Before that, he was an Associate Partner at a large consultancy, focusing on DC investment advice.

Alongside advising large complex DC clients, Gareth advises platform providers and asset managers on the design, development, and launch of bespoke investment solutions for both institutional and retail customers.

Gareth is also actively involved in industry consultation, and is a regular speaker at major pensions events, including Pensions UK conferences.

Brian Barbour is a professional trustee with over 18 years experience as a trustee in large and small DB, DC, hybrid and unfunded schemes.   As a former Chief Information Security Officer he has a great insight and interest  in Cyber Risks facing members, schemes and corporate sponsors, and in oversight of third parties, administration and security controls. 

Brian was also Chair of the NHS (Scotland) Pension Scheme and a Board Member and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee of the Scottish Police Authority.   His background is IT, Risk, and Data Privacy with significant periods leading Customer Service Improvement teams. 

Piers Lowson has more than 35 years’ experience across asset management, investment banking and investment consultancy.

He is currently an independent adviser to LPPI and GLIL Infrastructure LLP, a member of the Investors for Purpose Advisory Group, and a Non-Executive Director of British Business Bank Investment Services, the Bank’s regulated advisory and asset management business.

Until 2025, Piers was a Director at Baillie Gifford, one of the UK’s leading growth equity managers. During more than 15 years with the firm, he led UK institutional business development, raising capital across a range of UK and global investment strategies.

Prior to joining Baillie Gifford, he managed the Solutions Advisory Group at fintech specialist Barrie & Hibbert, which was subsequently acquired by Goldman Sachs and later Moody’s Analytics.

Piers began his career in investment banking and held senior leadership roles at Deutsche Bank, Bankers Trust International and NatWest Markets, ultimately serving as a Director at each organisation.

He holds a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Essex and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, and has been an elected member of the Expert Witness Institute for more than 20 years.

Joanne is Head of Manager Selection at Future Growth Capital, responsible for external manager investments and leading the manager selection team. Joanne’s background is in principal investing, with experience across public and private markets gained at the Wellcome Trust, a leading global endowment.

Joanne has previously served in a range of non-executive roles, including Trustee Director of the Wellcome Trust Pension plan and Trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee of the Varrier-Jones Foundation. Joanne chairs the Investment Advisory Committee at Hertford College, University of Oxford and is a member of the City Guild of Investment Managers. Joanne holds a PhD in life sciences from University College London and a Masters of Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. She is a CFA charter holder and holds the Private Markets and Alternative Investments Certificate from the CFA Institute.

Andy McAllister is Head of Portfolio Management at Great British Energy, the UK’s publicly owned clean energy company, which has been backed with £8.3bn of public capital over this Parliament to own, develop and invest in clean energy projects across the UK.  Andy has previously worked in infrastructure, energy and public-sector investment roles at Deloitte and the Scottish National Investment Bank, with experience across transaction structuring, debt and infrastructure investment, financial modelling, fund investment and public-sector advisory.

Chris Dodwell is Global Head of Policy & Advocacy at Impax Asset Management and Co Head of the Impax Sustainability Centre, the firm’s hub for insight, research and leadership on the transition to a more sustainable global economy.

Within the Sustainability Centre, Chris’s team is responsible for client partnerships, sustainability reporting and policy advocacy. Chris directs the firm’s engagement with policymakers worldwide, working to advance frameworks that support a net‑zero, climate-resilient and nature‑positive economy.

Chris joined Impax in 2019 after more than a decade shaping UK and international climate policy. During his time in the UK Government, he led the domestic implementation of the EU Emissions Trading System and headed the UK delegation to the UN climate negotiations. Subsequently, as Director of Climate Change at Ricardo Energy & Environment, Chris advised over 15 governments on developing and delivering their national climate strategies under the Paris Agreement.

Chris serves on a range of industry policy committees and advisory groups, including the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC), the Investor Policy Dialogue on Deforestation (IPDD) and the Transition Finance Council.

He holds a BA (Hons) in Classics from the University of Cambridge and an LLM in Environmental Law from University College London.

Scott is responsible for Impax Asset Management’s UK client groups and consultant relationships outside of North America. Scott joined Impax in 2015 having worked as an adviser for Craigmore Sustainable where he was responsible for sustainable investments focused on agriculture and forestry.

Prior to this, he served at ETF Securities as Co-Head of European Sales. Scott has also held senior trading roles at J.P Morgan and UBS.

An Oxford graduate with a master’s degree in Geography, with a focus on climate modelling, Scott also holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Sinclair has 25 years of experience successfully building life science companies and delivering competitive returns to international investors.  Sinclair is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of four Epidarex Capital venture funds (www.epidarex.com).  He has early-stage therapeutics venture investing experience in North America, Europe and East Asia. Sinclair is a Director of Epidarex Management Ltd, Epidarex Capital Management LLC and he currently serves on the Boards of Apellis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Clyde Biosciences Ltd. and Lario Therapeutics Ltd. Sinclair received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business where he was the R.C. Kopf British-American Fellow in international business. Sinclair also holds an M.A. with Honours in Political Economy from the University of Glasgow and an M.A. in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Sinclair is a St. Andrew’s Society of New York Scholar. Earlier in his career, he was a political economist with the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. He is Chairman of Inspiring Scotland, one of Europe’s largest venture philanthropy charities.
