Victoria has worked across all areas of finance at Guildford, starting in management accounts. The opportunity to take on treasury and capital came 12 years ago, and she hasn’t looked back! She evolved the treasury function at Guildford and really diversified their investment portfolio. Guildford only have long term HRA debt, but that will change. When Victoria took on the role, the capital programme was tiny. Now they are looking at major regenerations in the borough, which keeps everything really interesting. Victoria is a member of the CIPFA treasury management network panel and the BoE Money Markets Committee, being the local government rep. After restructures at Guildford, she is the lead specialist and deputy s151 officer – but treasury will always be a keen area of interest!
