Private Markets Profile – DC Summit

Join our inaugural Defined Contribution Summit in London for a look at the specific challenges the DC community is facing as it ramps up its private markets commitments across private equity, infrastructure, venture and natural capital as well as private debt. How should allocations be thought about and what structural challenges are investors facing, will be among the questions we will be considering

Private markets investing for DC – structural issues & asset class choices

Private markets allocations is the clearly the topic du jour for the DC community, but questions still remain. Are LTAFs the preferred route? How should the industry approach performance fees? Open vs closed-ended funds? How many GP relationships are desirable and what mix of assets should feature in the growth and perhaps decumulation phase?

3:30

Net zero in infrastructure – generating risk-adjusted returns & supporting net zero

For DC investors navigating private markets allocation decisions, what does a diversified infrastructure portfolio offer to an overall risk-return profile, and how can it achieve net zero alignment? Explore some examples of investments from transport to digital delivering long-term, predictable cash flows with sustainability alignment.

4:00

Private equity & venture capital – DC returns to the moon?

Private equity and venture capital do undoubtedly present the DC markets with a great opportunity for growth, but how should the DC space approach these often risky assets and is there an opportunity to find great options in the UK market to support growth here or is Silicon Valley still the best bet?

4:30

Private debt – what level of risk is appropriate for the DC investor

Private debt, like many other private markets assets labels, is a somewhat unhelpful umbrella term encompassing everything from senior secured lending to the opportunistic and asset-backed lending. So, what role should this asset class play within in a wider private markets allocation and which types of private debt may be suited to a growth portfolio versus a decumulation portfolio?
